Qatar Airways Airbus 330-300 // Doha to Muscat in First Class

Having enjoyed the Al Sawfa Lounge (Qatar Airways’ First Class Lounge), it was time to go on to my next flight on Qatar Airways’ Airbus 330-300 series aircraft.

I’m no big fan of the Airbus 330. The engines don’t have that distinct sound that you have on the Airbus 350 or Boeing 777, the seat configuration on Qatar’s Planes is 2-2, and overall it’s not a very “sexy” aircraft either. Nonetheless, it was great. Here’s why:

1. Ground Experience: Immaculate

Boarding commenced approx. 40 minutes before departure time. Boarding was done via a jet-bridge. Priority boarding for First/Business Class passengers. Nothing to write home about. / OK / Solid.

2. Cabin and Crew: Professional

I was greeted by a senior flight attendant along with the cabin manager overseeing business class and was led to my seat. Both flight attendants introduced themselves and took my meal orders.

3. Service: Five-star service

Pre-departure drinks were served once I took place. Qatar Airways’ signature drink, various sorts of juices were offered. I also went for Arabic coffee which is exclusively offered on Middle East flights on Qatar Airways.

While serving the drinks, the crew took meal orders: The Doha-Muscat flight in this case being an a very short-flight lasting no longer than 1-2 hours, today’s choice was Arabic Mezze.

Throughout the flight, drink refills were offered.

4. Conclusion: Great (5 / 5)

The catering and the high degree of professionalism by the crew made for a great flight.
